UA Day Community – Pakistan
The UA Day Pakistan Community is a collaborative initiative dedicated to promoting awareness and adoption of Universal Acceptance (UA) across Pakistan. The community brings together stakeholders from government, academia, the technical community, industry, and civil society to support the development of a more inclusive and multilingual Internet.
Following the global announcement of UA Day by ICANN and the global efforts of the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG), the Internet Society Islamabad Chapter took the lead in initiating and coordinating UA Day celebrations in Pakistan in 2023.
As a community-driven initiative, UA Day Pakistan works closely with partners from the Internet governance ecosystem, universities, developer communities, industry stakeholders, and public institutions. Through awareness sessions, workshops, and technical discussions, the initiative aims to promote Universal Acceptance and encourage the development of digital systems that support all valid domain names and email addresses, including multilingual and internationalized formats.
UA Day celebrations in Pakistan provide an important platform to connect stakeholders, strengthen technical capacity, and highlight the role of Universal Acceptance in advancing digital inclusion, innovation, and linguistic diversity on the Internet.
UA Community Secretariat
The UA Community Secretariat coordinates UA Day activities and partnerships in Pakistan. The initiative is led by the Internet Society Islamabad Chapter, which serves as the coordinating community platform for UA-related initiatives in the country.
The Secretariat facilitates collaboration among stakeholders, organizes awareness programs and technical training sessions, and supports efforts to encourage the development of UA-ready systems, applications, and digital services.
